Hunting & Fishing Licenses:

The Thomaston Town Office issues Hunting and Fishing Licenses for Maine Residents and Non-Residents.

You must provide the following required documents to purchase a Resident License: Either a valid Maine Driver’s license OR a valid State of Maine photo I.D. plus an Affidavit of Residency (available at Town Office).

Required for BOTH Resident and Non-Resident License Purchases of Big & Small Game Hunting Licenses: proof of a prior hunting license or a certificate of Hunter Safety.  Non-Residents are also required to provide a valid picture I.D.

ATV, Boat, or Snowmobile Registrations:  

New Registrations: We need your bill of sale, whether from the dealer or a private sale. State sales tax of 5.5%  is required on the purchase price. For all private or out-of-state sales, a Use Tax Certificate will be completed at the Town Office and submitted to the State.  Sales tax is collected during purchase at all Maine Dealerships. 

  New registrations must be processed at the Town Office.

Renewal Registrations: Please bring a copy of your previous registration. Renewals can be processed at the Town Office, or online at https://www.maine.gov/ifw/
