Free, confidential support to help Thomaston residents find the resources they need the Town of Thomaston, in partnership with the Penobscot Bay YMCA, is pleased to offer the Community Navigator Program, a free and confidential service designed to help residents connect with local supports and resources.

How the Community Navigator Can Help
The Community Navigator Program supports Thomaston residents by helping them:
- Access local resources and community services
- Understand eligibility for assistance programs
- Complete paperwork and applications
- Connect with supports for housing, food, utilities, healthcare, and more
- Identify next steps and options based on individual needs
This program is meant to be supportive, welcoming, and judgment free.
Services are confidential and provided at no cost.

Authorization and Confidentiality
To provide Community Navigator services, participants are required to complete an authorization form.
This form allows the Community Navigator to obtain and share information only when necessary to help coordinate services and connect you with appropriate resources.
Confidentiality is extremely important to us. All information shared is handled with care and used solely to support you in accessing services, completing applications, and navigating available resources. Information is never shared without your consent, and only details directly related to your support needs are obtained or released.
Completing the authorization form helps ensure that the Community Navigator can communicate effectively with partner agencies, follow up on referrals, and advocate on your behalf when appropriate, while respecting your privacy at every step.
If you have questions about the authorization process or how your information is protected, the Community Navigator will be happy to explain before you sign.
Pilot Program Note: This is a grant-funded pilot currently serving Thomaston residents only, but we hope to expand in the future to reach more neighbors and meet additional local needs!
