By submitting this registration, I acknowledge and agree that participation in the Thomaston Fall Festival Cemetery Stone Cleaning event involves outdoor activity and the use of cleaning products and tools. I understand that, while every reasonable effort will be made to provide instruction and maintain a safe environment, participation carries inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, exposure to weather conditions, allergic reactions, skin or eye irritation from cleaning solutions, and other unforeseen hazards.
I understand that:
- I am voluntarily participating in this event.
- I will follow all instructions provided by event staff and volunteers.
- I will use only the cleaning products, brushes, scrapers, and other materials supplied or specifically approved by the event organizers.
- I will not introduce or use any outside chemicals, cleaners, wire brushes, power tools, or abrasive materials.
- I will exercise extreme care and patience while cleaning historic gravestones and understand that these monuments are irreplaceable cultural resources that can be permanently damaged through improper handling.
- If instructed to stop cleaning or modify my technique, I will do so immediately.
- I will promptly report any injury, unsafe condition, or accidental damage to event staff.
- I certify that I am physically capable of participating or have chosen to participate at my own discretion.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless the Town of Thomaston, the Thomaston Recreation Department, event volunteers, organizers, sponsors, and partnering organizations from liability for personal injury, illness, property damage, or loss arising from my participation, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
For participants under 18 years of age, this agreement must be accepted by a parent or legal guardian.
