Thomaston Recreation Raises $2,290 for the Cameron Frisone Cancer Fund at 2025 Monsters at the Mound Tournament
THOMASTON, Maine – The Thomaston Recreation Department is proud to announce that this year’s Cam Frisone's Monsters at the Mound Adult Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament raised $2,290.72 for the Cameron Frisone Cancer Fund.
The tournament, held this past weekend from 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, brought together nine teams for a day of friendly competition, community spirit, and heartfelt giving. The Cameron Frisone Cancer Fund is a living testament to Cam’s compassion, created to provide vital support to children and families battling cancer throughout the Mid-Coast area.
Participants didn’t just show up to play, they showed up to make a difference. Teams embraced the Halloween season by dressing up in costumes and celebrating a beautiful fall day for a cause that touches many hearts in the community.
When the dust settled, the Bushwhackers emerged as the champions, remaining undefeated and securing their second consecutive Thomaston tournament win. The B52s took second place, Incrediballs finished third, and Cartel came in fourth. The B52s also buzzed their way to victory for the Best Team Costume, showing up dressed as bees and bringing both humor and style to the event. An honorable mention is also in order for The Incrediballs for their dedication to spandex superhero suits and Wonka's Witches & Pitches and the Puddle Pirates for their next level participation and creative execution.
Thomaston Recreation extends sincere gratitude to Erin, Michael, and their family for their dedication and help with the tournament, as well as to the volunteer umpires who kept the games running smoothly. And of course, thank you to every team and player who participated. Your enthusiasm and generosity made this fundraiser a success!
