Second Annual Autism Awareness Adult Coed Softball Tournament Raises $1,545 for Autism Society of Maine
THOMASTON, Maine – On Saturday, August 9, the Thomaston Recreation Department and Hitmen – Adult CoEd Softball hosted the second annual Autism Awareness Adult Coed Softball Tournament, bringing together the community for a day of friendly competition and an important cause.
Six enthusiastic teams stepped up to the plate for the tournament, helping raise a total of $1,545, all of which was donated to the Autism Society of Maine to support programs, services, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by autism.
The day’s competition was fierce, culminating in a championship matchup between the defending champions, Hitmen, and The Cartel. The Cartel handed the Hitmen a loss in the first of two finalist games, but the Hitmen battled back to claim the title in the second game and secure the 2025 championship.
Special thanks go to Glenn Johnson for his planning and coordination with the Thomaston Recreation Department, ensuring the tournament’s smooth organization and success.
With strong turnout, spirited play, and incredible support from players, fans, and volunteers, the tournament has already secured its spot on the calendar for next year. Plans are underway to make the 2026 event even bigger and better.
