Thomaston Recreation Hosts Lively Senior Luncheon with Music and Community Giving
The Thomaston Recreation Department hosted its monthly senior potluck luncheon welcoming community members for an afternoon of food, music, and connection.
This month’s luncheon featured a generous and delicious spread, including offerings from local favorites Flipside Coffee and Uproot Pie Company/Carriage House. Attendees also enjoyed a special live performance by local musician Jimmy Moreland, joined by his friend Mark. Their performance had the room energized, with guests tapping their feet, singing along, and even getting up to dance.
A well-known performer in the local music scene, Jimmy brought along a loyal group of supporters who were excited to see him take the stage at the luncheon. In an especially generous gesture, Jimmy dedicated the performance as a fundraiser for the Thomaston Food Pantry, helping to raise $100 and fill the donation bin with much-needed items.
The Thomaston Recreation Department extends its appreciation to everyone who attended and contributed to the welcoming and lively atmosphere. Special thanks also go to the Oceanside Middle School Alternative Education Program for their continued volunteer support and for providing baked goods enjoyed by all.
While each luncheon offers its own charm, community members are encouraged to join future gatherings, held on the last Friday of every month.
