Position Objectives:
The Code and Assessing office is seeking a temporary, detail-oriented and proactive office assistant to join our team for the summer (starting July 1st, expected to go until October 1st). This position is more than administrative support – it’s a key part of helping residents navigate property records, permits, and other services with accuracy, professionalism, and care. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to public inquiries in person, by phone, and online, assisting with tax information, documentation, and general assessing and code department services.
- Manage and Maintain accurate records and data systems, including property information, assessment records, and document storage (both electronic and physical)
- Support Departmental Operations and compliance by processing forms, preparing correspondence, data entry, and assisting with assessing and code enforcement functions such as permit and form completion.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously with the public and coworkers
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage records, documents, and data accurately
- Technologically savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining effective working relationships while managing multiple tasks in a busy office environment
Desirable Training and Experience:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least one year in a busy office environment.
